Trump Admin Asks Supreme Court to Rule on Birthright Citizenship

The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to look at whether President Donald Trump’s birthright citizenship executive order is constitutional. A document seeking review of the order was filed with the nation’s highest court late on Sept. 26, Reuters reported. The Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Aug. 8 that it planned to ask the Supreme Court to review the constitutionality of the executive order that seeks to terminate birthright citizenship.
