WASHINGTON—The U.S. Congress is considering granting its members more armed personal protection after conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was assassinated in Utah on Sept. 10. Kirk was assassinated by an unknown shooter while speaking to an outdoor crowd of students at Utah Valley University. The killer fired a single shot at Kirk from 200 yards away, which hit him in the neck and caused a visible loss of blood. He was rushed to the hospital and later confirmed dead.
