TUCSON, ARIZONA—Former Pima County Supervisor Adelita Grijalva won the Democratic Primary in Arizona’s 7th Congressional District on July 15 for the Special General Election on Sept. 23 to fill the vacancy created by the death of her father, the late Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.). The district, which covers most of southern Arizona along the U.S. border with Mexico and portions of the City of Tucson, as well as suburban areas near Phoenix, was represented by Raúl Grijalva for over 22 years.
